Why Juggle?
Soccer juggling is probably both the most exciting and difficult facet of
the game. It's an individual skill that teaches ball and body control.
Improved control will take you from being a good soccer player to
becoming an outstanding soccer player. Mastering the touch of the ball
WILL improve your game and give you more confidence to control the ball
in game situations. Juggling develops your touch and confidence on the
ball, balance, concentration and consistency, all of which will help
your overall game ability. With practice, you will find yourself
improving as a player without even realizing it! Players with good
juggling skills will make better passes, beat defenders more easily,
and be able to hold the ball against defensive pressure because of a
better touch on the ball. Juggling is a fundamental soccer skill that
is a must in establishing good "touch" with the soccer ball
and is an excellent activity for players of all levels.
When to Juggle?
Daily juggling at home for a minimum of 5-10 minutes is encouraged.
Anytime you are OUTSIDE and away from breakables or traffic. All it
takes is you, your ball and a little determination. Beating your score
and competing against yourself are important keys to improving your
game and becoming the best player you can be. Juggling a soccer ball is
a good activity for using your spare time and it can also be a good
work out.
Rules
The main guidelines are NO HANDS and NO BOUNCES. Juggling is tapping
the ball and keeping it in the air with any body part except the hands
or arms. It's an individual skill that teaches ball and body control.
For soccer players, this means using different parts of your body
(laces, thighs, chest, shoulders and head) to maintain control of the
ball in the air without using your HANDS!!
Goals
In an effort to help promote this important individual soccer activity,
players will be recognized when they reach one of the following levels:
|
Bronze (25 juggles)
|
Silver (50 juggles)
|
Gold (100 juggles)
|
Platinum (200 juggles)
|
Fury players who
achieve each of the levels from the juggling club will receive
recognition on the website.
Important
Everyone will improve at a different pace depending on a
whole bunch of reasons including time spent practicing. However, if you
find you are struggling
instead of juggling,
don’t be afraid to ask your coach or trainer for help and advice. Don’t
get disheartened! Get help to get better! Keep it up!
